- Is society today in fact worse than before.
- Is the social freedom we have acquired in this last century worth the sacrifice of traditional values and propriety? Or is there a happy medium?
- Is chivalry dead?
- If chivalry is dead, why is it?
- If chivalry is not dead, then does it pose a threat to feminism?
- Should Victorian era manners and formalities be reinstated in society in some capacity, or does etiquette pose a threat to feminism as well?
- If we were to go around acting old fashioned, how would people react?
In short, this blog's purpose is to debate whether or not modernity is better than tradition from the perspective of gender roles and equality.

Interested in seeing where this is going. It looks promising!
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting because chivalry is dead especially in the collage scene, which is very sad because everyone wants to be treated right.
ReplyDeleteI think it is interesting that so many people think chivalry is dead and that some women prefer that because now it seems more equal. Personally, I think that holding a door open for someone else is just a nice thing to do. I hold doors open for men and women and no one thinks that is wrong nor do they tell me it is not my job. I make a point to hold doors open for people and I don't get offended or "go all feminist" on men who do choose to hold a door for me. I think it should go both ways.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Arianna completely. This is very interesting and I'm excited to see what you will explore in your next posts, Elise.
